Children & Teen's Course - May, 2009

The first overnight Anapana course for children and teens was hosted at Dhamma Pakasa on May 2 - 3. The course was attended by eight girls and ten boys. The students started their course by sewing their own meditation cushions. The students were then split into different age groups and played name games, badminton, Frisbee, and enjoyed various arts and crafts projects.

The outdoors environment was ideal for children to play on large lawns, under high and shady trees. The children had fun watching frogs in the ponds. They also enjoyed the pizza and other delicious treats.

After all the outdoor playtime and the food, the children were very disciplined in the hall and learned how to maintain noble silence.

They carefully listened to Goenkaji's Anapana instructions and practiced the technique. They also interacted with the Children Course Teacher by asking interesting questions.

It is always inspiring to hear the children and teen's insights during their brief introduction to Anapana meditation.
